A walkway is narrow enough that every cut shows. Borders in a second colour hide nothing — they set the line and make the field pattern read straight, which is why we run them on almost every path we lay.

How we do it
- Path lines laid out on site and walked before excavation
- Compacted base — narrower than a driveway, but no shallower
- Contrast borders set first, the field pattern laid into them
- Stepping stones set level with the turf so a mower clears them
- Edge restraint on both sides
- Joints sanded, compacted and sealed
